Keith Murphy is a licensed professional counselor and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor in New Jersey. He has over 14 years of experience in helping those who live with addiction and other major life issues rebuild their lives.
In his present role as a Recovery Counselor, Keith has been tasked to help the students in the College Recovery Program develop skills for recovery and life in college and beyond. Shuba Narasimhan (pronouns: she/her) is a South Indian-American woman who is healing from depression and anxiety. She is a master’s in social work (MSW) student at West Virginia University. She is passionate about the deconstruction of oppression and ways in which she can practice soul-care amidst the chaos that can be life. She enjoys holding spaces to *be real* about individual and collective healing and wellness. She firmly believes that oppressive practices, systems, and culture all ultimately affect each individual in society negatively in body/mind/spirit, regardless of the images and material wealth that is gained and portrayed by those in power [dominant groups].
Stasie Maxwell is an undergraduate at Southern Oregon University, located on Cow Creek Umpqua, Takelma and Grand Ronde Territory, also known as Ashland, Oregon. She is pursuing her major in Psychology with a Native Studies Certificate. Her interests are centered around mind/body/spirit wellness, social and environmental justice, community building, and the ways in which Western Psychology and Indigenous Science can inform and complement each other. She has begun to activate her education and facilitate community action through her co-leader position within the PGMOne Leadership Council, a BIPOC centered social justice organization with a mission dedicated to anti-oppression and collective liberation work.
Rory O’Brien is the current Digital Communications intern for SSDP Global and the chapter leader of Minneapolis SSDP. In 2018, she started studying Addiction Counseling and is now also majoring in Sociology. Rory is an activist for major changes to address systemic racism and works in community partnership with local, national, and international in areas like overdose policy, the addiction treatment complex, mental health, reinvesting in the community, and human rights. In connection to her identity, she is a strong believer in decolonization, re-Indigenization, anti-racism, intersectionality, harm reduction, and trauma responsiveness.
Asianna Brown (she/her) is a recent BSW graduate from Baylor University. She co-founded Black Leaders Moving Social Work to promote a safe space for Black students to voice their concerns and lift the voices of all students who have been minoritized at a predominately white campus. She has a personal interest in historical, cultural, and anti-racist education.
