FY2023 Annual Report
Our CAS team of researchers, faculty, and staff has continued to be amazingly productive over the past year. We have been inspired and supported by collaboration with our many affiliates and community partners, including our Community Advisory Board. Highlights are summarized in our 2023 Annual Report. CAS maintains its deep commitment to innovative multidisciplinary research, training, education, and advocacy that will contribute to breakthroughs in the field of substance use disorders prevention and treatment, with an emphasis on traumatic stress and health disparities. To that end, we continue to invest in activities and projects that enhance and support diversity, inclusion, and interdisciplinary scholarly collaboration. Looking forward, we are invigorated by our plans for the next year, as described in our FY2024 Objectives and Key Results (OKR).

FY2022 Annual Report
The past year has provided an opportunity for celebrating accomplishments and reflecting on our past and future directions. As you will see from our attached 2022 Annual Report, we are recommitting to our research mission, with an added emphasis on social justice. You can read about our experience over the past year, working with a community advisory board to implement community engaged wellness focused projects. This amazing group has helped us bring the voices of people in recovery, family supporters, and community partners into designing, implementing, and evaluating our research and training efforts. We look forward to another enriching and productive year as we continue this collaboration.
Our very best,
Denise Hien, Ph.D., ABPP Director and the CAS Leadership Team
2020 was an unprecedented year for all of us
Despite the challenges, the Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies continued to make contributions to science and practice. We brought in new faculty and postdocs, our journal has thrived with over 1 million visits, and we have continued to provide high-quality education for those working so hard to help others with substance use where rates have only escalated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are pleased to share our Annual Report.
Our very best,
Denise Hien, Ph.D., ABPP Director and the CAS Leadership Team
