The EEG/ERP Boot Camp

Event-related potentials (ERPs) are one of the most commonly used noninvasive measures of human brain activity. The Mini ERP Boot Camp is a 3-day training workshop on ERP methods designed for beginning and intermediate level ERP researchers at any career stage who would like to obtain a firm grasp of the fundamentals of ERP research. This workshop will provide a practical introduction to using ERPs to answer questions about sensory, cognitive, affective, and motor processes in basic science and clinical research.

Instructor: Emily S. Kappenman
Dr. Emily Kappenman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University. She has over 15 years of experience using EEG/ERPs to study cognition and emotion in typical healthy individuals and people with psychological and psychiatric disorders. Her laboratory is also actively involved in the development and promotion of high-quality EEG/ERP methods in both basic and translational research. Dr. Kappenman is co-director of the yearly NIMH-sponsored ERP Boot Camp 10 day summer workshop, and has also led more than a dozen Mini ERP Boot Camp training workshops at institutions around the world.
