The Johnson & Johnson School Nurse Fellowship Program is held in conjunction with the Rutgers Institute of Alcohol and Drug Studies. The Institute is under the direction of Gail G. Milgram, Ed.D., and is conducted by the Center of Alcohol Studies at Rutgers University. The Center is known internationally as one of the leaders in research on alcohol, in education and training of professionals, and in the publication and documentation of alcohol literature. The Center is in the forefront of dealing with substance and alcohol abuse as a major public health problem. Rutgers University is the State University of New Jersey. Its student enrollment of more than 50,000 makes it one of the nation’s largest public universities. It is also one of the oldest in the United States, founded in 1766 as Queens College.
