Center of Alcohol Studies Research

The Rutgers Alliance for Sustainable Risk Reduction (RASRR) draws on the resources of a diverse and complex university community to further our Strategic Prevention Framework Community Implementation plan. We convene members of our university and surrounding neighborhood community and coordinate their actions in an effort to select, develop, implement, evaluate, and disseminate effective prevention protocols designed to reduce alcohol use, as well as related consequences, among 18 to 25 year olds. The project involves a comprehensive collaboration involving a variety of University units as well as with a Community Coalition, including the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Middlesex County (NCADD-MC) and the Princeton Center for Leadership Training (PCLT). We are continually evaluating our long-range strategic plan to support campus cultures that view dangerous drinking and drug use as unacceptable. Such a strategic plan includes assessment, education, training, tailored interventions, technical assistance services for sustainability, and the development of an integrated evaluation process.
