TODAY’S FACULTY RECOGNITIONS ARE BROUGHT TO YOU BY GEICO. JOINING US TODAY ARE TWO OF RUTGERS’ MOST DISTINGUISHED FACULTY.
The Center of Alcohol Studies (CAS) is a multidisciplinary institute dedicated to addiction research, education, and training.
Our NIH-supported research programs seek to understand how the body and brain communicate to impact alcohol and other drug use behavior, how legalization of marijuana impacts simultaneous alcohol and marijuana, and how the effectiveness of current youth alcohol interventions can be compared more efficiently and precisely.
Our addiction education program offers weekly professional development seminars, specialty opioid intervention trainings for law enforcement and prevention interventions for medical professionals, and a 3-day summer program that immerses participants in the latest strategies and theories for treating addiction.
Alcohol Research Documentation, Inc., which publishes the oldest substance-related journal in the United States (Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs), is housed at CAS.
