COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE LABORATORY

Mission

  • To conduct integrated cognitive psychology and neuroscience research aimed at understanding alcohol and other drug effects in humans and advancing the treatment of addictive behaviors.

  • To provide training for undergraduate and graduate students in basic and applied human neuroscience research.

Areas of active research include:

  • neuropsychological models of addictions treatment outcome
  • neuropsychological and cognitive assessment in normal and psychiatric populations
  • magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and neuropsychological assessment of children diagnosed with autism spectrum and bipolar disorders and normally developing children
  • alcohol challenge effects on implicit and explicit memory
  • memory and psychophysiological arousal at varying developmental stages of drug exposure
